Matt bought the Supra in late 2023 with 11,000 miles after finding it on craigslist of all places, only 30 miles away from home.

“I actually thought the ad was fake, because it screamed ‘Too good to be true’ but I had some mutual friends with the seller and it was totally legit. Car was very well kept, and i fell in love on the spot.”- Matt.

Like many car guys, he rotated through something new and exciting every couple years: old BMWs, Taurus SHO, SRT8, Charger, Fiesta ST, and a handful of Mustangs. One test drive in the Supra proved to check all the boxes.

The first thing he did when he bought the car was take it to the drag strip the week he bought it. Matt is most experienced in drag racing, having 12 years of it under his belt. Bone stock the car was almost a full second faster than his fastest car before, a 500HP Mustang on drag radials. The following spring he took the Supra out for some Autocross action, feeling for the first time he took a car that felt at home on the track.

“The potential urged me to try my hand for a ‘big boy’ track for the first time, so I signed up for Rocky Mountain Time Trials at Pueblo Motorsports Park, where I grew up drag racing and dreaming of running the road course. I was hooked, running the car in stock form and turning very lackluster times, and even boiling my brake fluid causing my first off-track landscaping, I found that this is what i want to focus on building my car towards in the long term.”- Matt

Some lean coming out of a corner at High Plains Raceway.

“None of this improvement would be possible without help from my Supra Specialist mechanic Cole Duran at 4D Engineering for helping me maintain the car and prepare it for each track day with great care, Zach at Proform for all my suspension parts installs, alignments, and car setup assistance, and the far too many to name members of the Rocky Mountain Time Trials community for reviewing and critiquing my lap videos, providing invaluable feedback, answering my questions, and guiding me to being a proper racecar driver. Also a huge shoutout to my family for supporting me on this endeavor and being the best pit crew l could ever hope to have join me on all these weekends at the track.”- Matt

Matt has recently broken the 2:00 barrier at High Plains Raceway, with a time of 1:59.4 and is pursuing to be even faster yet. If you ever get the chance to see it for yourself, you’ll realize that is pretty freakin quick. He clearly has a passion for motorsports, and is someone we are proud to feature as our #002 RCC feature of the week!

Just a nice shot of the Supra, that Refraction Blue is killer!
